How do you change the wipers on an Octavia

I bought Bosch from a UK supplier. Am dissapointed as the OEM blades lasted 6 years & these new ones judder badly unless it is bucketing down. I've tried cleaning the windscreen with multiple products. Running with/without rain-x. Cleaning the blades, etc.

Next step is to turn the blades in their housing. Fairly annoying & not what I expected from the product.

I bit the bullet and paid over $100 for genuines from Preston Skoda (now no longer a dealer) for the front pair. The originals have been perfect for 4 years, just a slight miss in the top right now. I figured that averages out pretty well over the 4 years. I have a real thing against bad wipers and poor vis - my other half seems capable of driving with a 2 inch smear of mud over the bloody windscreen!

i was going to buy from Supercheap but they didn't have the 24 inch RH blade. happy with genuines, if not the cost.

The OEM blades are supplied by Bosch. I checked mine a while back after the dealer reckoned they needed replacing at the last service (ha, nice try!) and spotted the Bosch logo stamped on them.

My OEMs were Bosch as well. That's why i went Bosch again.

No big deal. I have housings now, so I can replace the blades - the caps on the old housings had dissapeared.

Ouch the identical OEM Bosch were about half that from memory...

Late last year I was washing the car and caught a microfibre cloth on the end retainer clip of the rear wiper of my wagon. Gone! Vanished into thin air. The rest of the wiper was OK, so I rang Wipertech, explained that I didn't really want to buy a new rear wiper for the sake of a clip, and would be happy to pay a reasonable price for a new clip plus postage. To my surprise I was sent two clips in the mail at no charge. I rang to express my personal thanks, and a few weeks later got a Christmas card from Wipertech.

Not only am I happy with the wipers, which I believe are the equal of the OEM Bosch, but Customer Service is a reality not just a catchphrase.

It's nice to hear there are still companies out there the value the customer and not just the almighty dollar. I do not mind paying an extra few bob for an item if the company has good "Customer Service" policy.
