We didn't get the Mk3 here until the end of 2013, I remember going to look at them. And then the first RS came out around March 2014.
Wouldn't 2013/14 be the MK3 Octavia ? Think the Mk2 finished up in 2012 some time, correct me if I am wrong.
I think I'll email my VIN to superchips - good idea.

Mk2 finished in Feb or Mar 2013

Hmmm... I'm wondering if it's worth pursuing that avenue (stage 2).
I'll install the stage 1 and assess. That said, it would be nice to have a little more growl out of the tailpipes: I'm assuming the removal of the cat would somewhat improve the exhaust note?
I just don't want to make it too loud: I work shifts, so leave home in the wee hours of the morning: not really wanting to upset all my neighbors/wake my kids, etc. when I take the Stagea out, I have to time my arrival/departure times- the thing is LOUD (full exhaust, lumpy cams etc): I park under the house, and it shakes the couch in the lounge room upstairs!

I do. I have a 2012 vRS TSI Wagon. Bluefin handheld device worked a treat. Stage 2 tune for this model is apparently the same as the Mk 6 GTI Stage 2 results according to my emails with Superchips. Look at this curve and Stage 2 looks very very impressive!!! The torque increase looks amazing.

Just to represent the "dearer" local dyno tuners, you do get what you pay for. I'm sure Mark at Recode, Tarmac, all the popular dyno using tuners can get similar good results out of a MK6 GTI. Is it twice as good for twice the cost? Returns never are, but this is a local stage one, pump fuel, over summer in humid QLD. Not a sell job, just a comparison, and to show what the spend gets you. I'm all for competition, and if my provider drops pricing it's a good thing, as more people will buy, but top end tunes take time, and cost money to do, it's an eye opener.
Please note much lower, realistic dyno starting point. Gains +69hp and 115nm. Stage one, normal fuel. Oh and perhaps most important of all, 18psi.

I agree that you do get what you pay for.
The Bluefin is a cheap way to get a little extra power & If that's all you want then go for it.
If you want to get the most out of the mods & the car then you cant go past a custom dyno tune. is it worth the extra money ? it is if you can afford it & will take advantage of it.
As for the superchips dyno graphs, don't even get me started at the inconsistencies in some of them.
I had a long email exchange with them about some of these.
I scored a Bluefin cheap, 2 days after buying my car so I jumped on it, however if I continue to mod my Mk5, ill prob go to a custom tune to get the most out of it all, especially if I go a K04 turbo.

Impressive, do you have numbers / graphs for the Skoda VRS TSI 2.0 ? Stock 197 hp as opposed to the 'similar' mk6 GTI 207 HP motor? That baseline on your graph reads quite high (at the wheels?)
