something isn't greased up enough.
something isn't tight enough.
dogbone mount is loose, or the bush you (may have) put in it isn't greased up enough.
Thought I'd start a new thread so that if this happens to others in the future then it can be easily searchable.I've got a clunk when I accelerate more so in 1st and 2nd and it's also now appearing when I compression decelerate also. It's also making a clunk sound when I go over bumps like speed bumps or up driveways etc, and this has occurred more since I got the lower control arms installed a few weeks back. Note that the original clunk (when in 1st and 2nd) appeared before I got the lower control arms installed.
Anyway, took it to the dealer today. They road tested it and agreed it's making unusual clunking noises (yay for me, at least they acknowledge it now). They checked the engine mounts and gear box mounts. All fine. So they're not sure what's clunking? Have to take it back Thurs week and leave it with them for the day so they can do a more thorough inspection.
Will keep you guys posted.
A google search has identified similar issues with other Skodas/VWs but no one has really seemed to find a common cause of the clunking.
BTW - It's a manual vRS petrol wagon with less than 20k's on the clock.

Dual mass flywheel my friend - my Golf R does it as well and its normal.
is that for real?
I also get a clunk, but its only started happening since installing the dogbone insert.
ive had DM flywheels before and they have been quiet as!
I would suspect the subframe but also need to check the engine mounts
It happened to my Mazda3
The drive shaft splines were suck and from time to time they moved with a clunk
Greasing the spline solved the problem
2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels
next time im doing mods, ill start greasing things up. might replace the dogbone insert with a full mount too
That rubber dog bone mount in the sub frame is actually two rubber mounts/bushes - an upper and lower
They are not very challenging to remove/replace
