    4WD (Captiva) - 0 : Octavia - 1

scenario - parents & sis going to the airport with 3 large suitcases + 3 small suitcases.

preferred/expected mode of transport = holden captiva
    3 small suitcases = tick
    3 large suitcases = fail

    ....to the rescue = octavia
    3 small suitcases = tick
    3 large suitcases = tick

didn't have to put the rear seats down either

"wow, didn't realise the octavia had so much room".....they say.

i knew from the moment i saw the suitcases that they would not fit in captiva.
everyone thinks "4wd = lots of room".
when the octavia enters the ring, that equation is blown out. it kicks butt

even at the airport, 2 trolleys were required to hold all the cargo that came out of the boot of the octavia!!

Ha ha! I've had the same scenario with my wife's Kia Sorento.

When we go to my mum's in country Victoria her car is packed to the back window with things often spilling into the back seat.

A recent trip with my wife, 18 month old son and myself and it all fit in the boot - with the cargo cover on!

    I agree guys!

I went from the trusty Tiguan to the Octavia wagon due to the load space...and each day I am still blown away by just how much room there is!!!

I used to have the Tig seat folded down nearly each day, but I have not had to fold the Octavia's down once...with the same load levels!

you should read the post in the Tiguan section about "debadging / rebadging the Tiguan"

I remember the Sorento had a huge boot.
Actually, the Octy feels a little smaller!!... Or maybe its just me.
I have to take the cargo cover out of the Octy when I head out camping. Didn't do that with the Sorento. >.<
That being said, I haven't been camping much since swapping. No tow bar, yet!!

Yeah our Santa Fe actually has a bit more room in the back than our hatchback Skoda, mainly due to it being wider more than anything. The Wideness for me has been annoying though and from the two nice scratches I've received in less than a year its really getting to me now.

I reckon with a bit of finessing, you could fit a whole Captiva in an Octy Kombi boot...with the cargo cover on...
