Well... he's a mechanic and he did it himself, so its possible that he buggered up the installation, o that the KYB strut was faulty. Probably the former.
lol - you'd hope it was the latter given it's his trade!!!
Turns out to be the latter. Apparently the old strut tops had been coping with saggy suspension but couldn't handle the new shockies.
Ahhh, so that's why most people replace the top mounts when putting in new suspension, lol! What a PITA!
picked up my car which just had the ecs 14lbs single mass flywheel put in, and BFI 65A hardness dogbone/torquearm bushes.
and it's probably a combination of the two, the car is damn noisy inside now, particularly under 2000rpm... it's sort of nice to feel the engine more... but i'm a little annoyed at how much louder it is inside the cabin... and it makes things rattle too... i hate rattles! stock exhaust btw.
what do you think is the main culprit? losing the vibration dampening dual mass flywheel, or putting in harder dogbone bushes?
Dogbone for sure. What make is it?
Some are harder than others. I have a BFI yellow in my S3 which is pretty good for vibrations in my opinion.
