My friend tested this out. phone a friend on a mobile who is standing next to your car; click your blipper (which is normally out of range) near your phone, and the receiving phone emits the transferred signal and your car pops open!! Unfortunately we didn't try it TOO far away, we just tried it at about double range. I was amazed.
omg i have to try this........

Mine is pretty good, it works at about 30 mtrs. When i read the part about 'put it next to your temple' i had to check this out. Even tho it was raining, i went outside and went to its limit, at about 30 mtrs, then stepped back with it at my temple and it stopped working at 60 mtrs!! it actualy doubled, i was laughing in the rain the entire time, lol

I have the Comfort Module installed in my MkIV Rally. I was replacing the battery in the module a few days ago, in my bedroom which is a good 20m from where I park my car. I was pushing the lock/unlock buttons on the circuit board out of the plastic case and my mum sang out that my indicators were flashing! I installed the circuit board back into the plastic case and even now i'm lucky for it to open/close when i'm more than 3 meters away.....

Recently got a new battery in my FOB as the remote had just konked out completely. Only worked half the time even if I was standing right next to the car...had to unlock WITH THE KEY for a few days

That TG video is hilarious...am so trying that tomorrow!

As for a mobile re-transmitting the signal, I don't see how that is possible unless by some amazing change of coincidence your FOB happens to be transmitting on any only of the multiple frequency ranges used by GSM or 3G.
