    Before you buy Optima battery make sure it is not already 2 or 3 years old (don't take just the seller word for it). It has serial no. and from that you should be able to find out production date, for which you have to contact Optima.

    It should also have a sticker on it with the manufacturing month and year marked clearly.

    I have made a D34 fit my battery box (bora 4mo) with slight modifications to the box (ie: cutting away some of the plastic bit where the fuse holder sits).
    The biggest problem with the D34 is that the terminals are around the wrong way, so you have to place it the other way around (so the terminals are ~10cm further away).
    It is also slightly bigger then the factory battery box, so is a very snug fit.

    You're better off getting a D35, which is ever so slightly smaller, but make sure it has the reversed terminals (IT IS AVAILABLE! but optima have no clue what about it for some reason), i've seen them in JB though.
