I am sure in the 5 years since the MKIV R32 was developed there have been some improvements to the car and not everything was built to the best it could be, case and point being the window regulators/brake light switch/coil packs etc etc.

I think the drive-train, brakes and suspension in an R32 will more than cope with a Charger upgrade, in any case all factors considered it may be easier for Ub3r to do a straight engine install but, I know I wouldn't if it was me. I would be doing everything possible to make it more drivable/fun/powerful/personal without going over the top i.e. my comment of two GT30's being a dream, it's not often you may get the chance to rebuild your engine or purchase a new block (Maybe HPA will do one ???

As you say any modifications should be considered and measured before going ahead as they do not always turn out how you expect.

Most of your points i do agree with. A HPA bottom end or a custom built up bottom end is useless unless you actually are serious about turbocharging or building a manic NA engine. Even then the bottom end is just the tip of the iceberg on the modification list.
Things like window regs/light switches/coil packs etc. are actually designed to fail to begin with. Although i don't agree with it but the spare parts department need to make money as well.
The bottom line is that i hope Ub3r gets it all sorted and will continue to enjoy his pride n joy.
My approach to personalising an r32 would be through suspension/styling/exhaust etc. I personally dont think that the R is a good contender for pure speed, but you cant beat it as a cruiser, and that exhaust note , its the only reason i'd buy one if i did.
