Bleeding was a huge pita due to getting a bit of air at the top of the system.
Bled all corners multiple times, did master a couple. Pedal would be ok with car off, as soon as it started it would go soggy.
Ended up getting Aaron to trigger the abs via vcds. And with the help of Jarreds power bleeder managed to move the air trapped around the abs pump and move it out one of the lines.
Iv done two heat cycles on the new pads and discs, pedal still feels abit soft but it comes to a stop no worries and doesn't make horrid grinding sounds now, did a home alignment just to make it driveable. But a proper alignment and new tyres up front should be nice.
Only other issue was a grinding noise first drive... just a bent dust shield up front.
Was going to take some more pics but brakes are barely visible behind the abt v1.
Thanks to jarred and Aaron for the lend of tools, and woody, jye and Matty d for the assistance
Next on the list is fixing the air ride leaks. 2 of 4 corners leak, and there is a leak in the management side of things
You never can help yourself can you haha.
Always interested to see the changes and wheels, its disappointing to see so many new mk6's and so little mk3/mk4's around these days as so much more potential in comparison i think
What’s behind you doesn’t matter..
We need yours back to lead the way. No one in aus is really spending big dollars on them these days
Alignment done. Had the camber dialed back from 3deg to 2.25deg in the front at ride height, control arms level. Rear is much better too (can't recall what figure)
Think my strut tops are on the way out or not happy about being worn in on a new angle as there is a bit of popping on uneven surfaces, might take the opportunity to get some camber tops
Looking good Dylan!
Check this thread out for silencing the annoying buzzer sound when the coming/leaving home lights are activated:
