good to hear you found what you were after. the GTI is definitley the better model. you won't be dissapointed.
Nice work there mate. She looks nice and tidy.
The colour is Jazz Blue by the way if remember correctly. Only 50k as well, that's a pretty neat find there.
You've done very well for yourself.
Keep us posted on how you're liking it and any mods you have planned etc.
Cheers,

Amusing trip. As a TAFE trip for work we went to Nupress Group who have a 5 plallet/5-axis CNC machine (well a few). One of my mates that I work with wrote his car off when he hit a roo, so was looking to replace it. So we swung our way to VMA and I noticed the shiny Jazz Blue GTI.
Looked very very nice, great kms. I think I noticed some scratches on the bonnet, though only minor and they would probably come out with a good detail.
I was told it would go for "around 17k". I'm not in a position to buy, but was curious as I think it was the only thing VAG present.
Another dubber from around here![]()
Long time Golf fan, stemming from my best friend in high school being into them, and I've been looking at Mk4 Golfs in the $12-16k range. I am considering buying a 2003 (2002MY) 2.0 Sports. The particular one I have my eye on is auto (i can hear some of you moan already, but I just can't be bothered with a manual in peak hour traffic any more) and has done 82k kms with full service history as well as a 3 year warranty on major parts. I have a look at it, and a test drive, it is in immaculate condition - includes leather interior and sunroof - and drives perfectly.
Now having said all that, I'll be going back to have another look at it on Saturday, is there anything in particular I should check or consider?
Many thanks for any advice any of you may have...
(edit: thought it better to tack this on the end of an existing thread rather than start a new one... hope that's ok!)
I met Aaron yesterday while walking the dog. It's certainly a very tidy GTI. You don't see too many Euros in our area, so i was pretty excited to see another Mk4.
If you need compare over notes with someone local Aaron, problems or otherwise, feel free to give me a PM.
We probably should try to organise a meet up somewhere soon eh Mal?
Dan.
