stock rims?
Hey there,
I have had problems with my 4motion binding up when turning hard left, and also when reversing
When you slowly turn into a carpark the car clunks and it feels like all wheels are fighting each other...
Has anyone had this problem and if so what did you do to rectify the problem?
stock rims?
yes it has stock rims?
power steering, maybe? fluid? rack?
hmmm.
only resistance at the end, towards lock?
I'd get it scanned and make sure the Haldex Gearbox is behaving itself. I've heard of similar symptoms with Haldex failure. The quote from the mechanic was " If it feels like the car's trying to tear itself apart, the haldex unit has gone."

Is it a loud twang / spring'ish sound ?
My Golf does this occasionally, usually when going full lock reversing on incline.
Took it to Pedder's and they could not replicate the problem nor find any issues with my suspension.
My car is lowered though. I'm hoping it is just a sign of its age.
Steering rack end?

I used to get a knocking/clunk sound before, but fitted the ECS refresh kit with my new shocks and this sorted it out. Could be a worn bush or ball joint.
Also the one time my steering got stiff/tight on lock was a few months back at a motorkhana event, but I put that down to a lot of powersteering use in a short period of time.
