T5.1 Door Open Headlight chime stopped working.

So my headlight chime has stopped working. At first it was intermittent, but now has completely stopped. With my ignition off and lights on, my door can open with no chime. I looked for a switch that activates it in the door seal with no luck. I'm guessing it's in the door latch mechanism? Anyone come across this problem before with some tips on where to start?

Whilst this might not help you could start with under the passengers side seat , in the earlier T5 models there are several electrical connection blocks under the drivers side and one of them is door locks etc .On the newer T5.1 there are similar blocks under the passengers side , on ours the connection pins were heavily corroded { don,t ask how they get corroded under the seat because I have no idea } any way check out all the connectors and inspect , if any corrosion spray some contact cleaner and then some contact coating stuff available at Jay Car . It fixed our door lock problem and those same wires could include the chime thingy .

I actually have my seat off at the moment for other wiring so I'll definitely have a look at all the connections. Thanks for the suggestion.
