The T4 (and T2 & T25) are 5 X 112 which is the same as some Audi and Mercedes. I don't know of any Jap ones that fit.

    B5 Passat ('97 on) are 5 X 112

Earlier Passats are the same as Golf (4 X 100)

BTW Just noticed a T5 on the way home from the Golf run and saw that the wheels are 16".

Hi Guys.......have come across some Merc mags

PCD 5 x 112 with an offset of 42......will they fit on the T4 with no probs.

Also if one decides to fit either audi/passat/merc mags on a T4, is there a problem with load ratings...........are the mags able to comply with the steel wheel load carrying capacity.

I wouldnt want to have any insurance probs if I had a bingle.

    Regards/thanks

Also the nuts are M12 not M14. They will fit, but the ball taper is different and can crack the wheels. I had special nuts made for my syncro.

Thanks again Syncro....cost of special nuts please and would your Man do another set if I went down that path.

Also ...no comment was made regarding the load carrying capacity of mags ??

    Regards.

I used standard Kombi nuts and machined them down to a M12 taper.
You could probably use M12 nuts and drill and tap them M14.
Do you know someone with a lathe as I have lost contact with my machinist.

My mags were aftermarket, so I got in touch with the manufacturer for the load ratings.

Just to inform....it appears that Speedy Wheels provides a number of alloy wheel patterns in 17" to 20" with offsets of ET35 and ET40 (which is what you'd want from a 7" plus wide wheel) that are available to be custom drilled to any PCD and hub centre diameter. As a bonus these are wheel styles that they list as having high load ratings.

Also the Cougar style is available in 15x7 with 5x112PCD & ET35 load rated
