It was a bit of a fiddly job to get done, but the screws came finally out:


I was able to find replacement ones for the round bottom one in the picture (701 941 142), but the top one doesn't seem to have part number!?!?!? WTF??? I am still trying to find one at the moment...

The interior also needs a LOT of attention, so I started scrubbing, from this:

I have heaps of parts coming in the next few days and weeks and there also the mechanical side won't fall too short, but I don't want to give too much away as otherwise I would put too much pressure on myself.

There is heaps of work to be done and she is definitly a keeper. I just have to keep up with the TLC and make up for all the years before, what I am also kinda looking forward too!

Are the head lamp adjusters not all the same?

As in you can use the same part number for all of them?

Unfortunately not Rob!

As you can see here, the screws have a different length and two differently shaped plastic bits (round opposed to wedge(?) shaped). The black plastic end bit is the same on both. Really makes you wonder why they used two different parts here....

Nice start...I binned the cabin filter years ago because it was bloody expensive to replace and clogged in a heartbeat out in the scrub. Money for jam for an unscroupulous dealer!!

I now run a dry foam filter that I had the lads at Unifilter make up for me for the cost of one OE part. Works a treat!!

I know where your coming from gecko I bought my son a T4 a couple of years back it started life with us as a 2.4 diesel after two years he wanted a bit more grunt so we bought a donor van with 2.5 petrol and did a complete engine gearbox etc swap . The headlight adjuster are a real pain but as we had two I was able to get the best for his van from the two . As I was a motor trimmer by trade you can see that the interior is special , we both do a bit of Moto Cross racing and riding so the van is fitted out to be as sound proof as it can and comfortable with lots of creature comforts , plus being able to transport the bikes to the tracks . I spent a lot of time sound proofing all of our vans so they are really quiet out on the highway , his van has fold out DVD player in the dash along with a fifteen inch dvd player roof mounted at the rear for those nights when we camp out . The stereo is still an ongoing project as he wants his to be as loud as mine [ he hates the fact that mine has a more powerful stereo ] As I have told him I am growing old disgracefully , I,m sixty in April and I still love my music loud .

I replaced the white plastic threaded inserts on mine several years ago,[pt no 867 941 142 adjusting piece]they are made from very poor plastic & when you try & adjust the headlights they fall to pieces. Very odd really as the screws on mine appear to be made of stainless steel, while ones on other cars are just zinc plated steel & after some time can rust. I wasn't aware that there is two types of white inserts. One of my black plastic clips must have broken as well as I remember pressing the screw out. I found an old plastic bag with the pt no 701 941 141A adjusting screw headlight on the sticker.I can't tell you whether that is a long or short screw. Knowing how dodgy the plastic is I coated the ball end of the screw & the thread with some teflon grease I have.
BTW what year van is yours? From the engine bay photo it looks like 2000.

I was at the spares counter today & asked on your behalf about these parts. The black plastic parts are available individually[item 5 on illustration 941-30 on ETKA] The lower screw with the white plastic threaded part is also available[item 6] If you need the top screw & other white plastic "wedge" you will need to buy the frame, item 2[$$$$$$$]
