Sorry for the late reply. I have been at Phillip Island for MotoGP. Can't remember exactly which one was the rear and which was mid fuse (3 fuses all up).

Hi again everyone. Reporting back on the cig. lighter fuse problem:

I have tried all your suggestions to no avail. (Yes the light in the lighter socket seems to be on a different circuit). Eventually I had to take the van to a VW dealer. Now get this: They tested all fuses under the dash and under the bonnet to locate the right fuse, and they couldn't find it! As it was getting late (they were kind enough to look at it after 4pm), they told me to bring it in the next day which I did, because they'd need the car for at least 1/2 day.

Anyway eventually they fixed it, and the guy said that it was a blown fuse, but he wouldn't tell me the location of it. He told me that there were 4 fuse boxes in Multivan. I asked if they had a fuse diagram, he was elusive on that, but eventually said that this information was not publicly available, even if he had that info on their computers he was not allowed to print/provide that info to anyone.

Thanks for all your responses and comments. Alex

By the way it cost me 34$. It wasn't much considering the time they must have spent on it, but it's a lot of money to change a fuse (~1$) which should only take a few minutes if you knew its location.

    Thanks for the info guys...

SKODA VW do you have a second battery in your van? I have not seen this block of fuses in the van?

ALEX MV...what a load of BOL***... I have asked over on the other channel for some more info on this mystery fuse box.

Get back as soon as I have any info to pass on.

I would go back and demand my money back less the fuse [probably 50 cents[ as the fuses are there for the consumer to replace they should not be hidden as he told you . Then contact VWA and complain as I said on a previous reply there should be diagrams in the owners handbook with fuse box location shown along with a number of cards with fuse layouts etc. Howard

    Hi Rob,

I do have Aux battery, but fitted by myself.

The other fuses in that row are for the trailer. I have dealer fitted VW towbar and that row of fuses was already fitted.

Yeah I know it's a load of BS, but it's not the service guy's fault, he has to do what he's been told to do.

IT is VW itself that do not provide that info to its customers.
