Another new T5GP

Sold the Commodore some months back and bought a 2010 T5, got a great deal on it from a dealer who was keen to sell and with only 12,000km its like new all be it a couple of years old.
It had been used as their loaner and parts runner so the km's and price suited me perfectly, not able to leave anything alone for more than 5 min I was already thinking about stuff for it on the way home

The first thing I did was to colour code the mirrors, door handles and do a black vinyl wrap on the roof (which is lifting so I'm going to paint it black)

Then started trawling trademe for wheels (the factory wheel tyre combo is pretty horrible really, no real feel from the steering at all!)
Found some 2 piece BBS RXII in 18" with an ET of 20 which filled the arches perfectly, bit of mucking around to find the right rolling diameter tyres which were load rated for the van but got some Hankook Ventus EVO in the end which seem to work well.
These vans suffer from pretty horrid road noise due to no soundproofing at all in a big open box so I removed all the interior panels and filled them with foam (in plastic bags) and polystyrene in the sliding doors, words can't explain how much difference that has made.



Did several orders from the UK (still recovering from the credit card bills LOL ) which included a lower front lip, side skirts and tailgate spoiler as well as chrome bling for the front, Eibach sportline springs, a rear bumper protector and rubber monster mats for the front (best mats I ever bought)
I realled missed my cruise control and MFSW from the Holden so I thought I would retro fit these but thats become a real nightmare although its all in and working now.
Still have to get the MFA part of the steering wheel working but it controls the RCD310 I added just fine, also fitted rear optical parking sensors which the radio displays......very handy on a box this big
Fitted the body kit, front trim and color coded the bumpers as well as molded in some DRL's while I was at it.


A month or so ago I was fortunate to find a pair of MK5 GTI leather seats for cheap so they have made their way in to the van as well, sure as hell more comfortable than what was there.
Finished wiring up the heated seats and lumbar on them tonight, got another climate control panel with the heated seat buttons so everything works now with OEM parts.


Still a few electrical things to sort through like the fog lights and getting the rest of the steering wheel working but its getting there, did think about blacking out the white panel behind the rear side windows too.

That is one sweet ride youv'e got there , pity about the roof wrap lifting . If it had stayed put at least you could go back to white later .Some nice dark window tint would set it off even more and yes fill the rear panel as well .

The roof wrap was just some cheap stuff I did with a mate to see if it would look any good, we got it down pretty well but unfortunately just wasn't stretchy enough for the deep ridges in the roof.
Yeah tints now done as well, going to look at filling those rear panels with black vinyl next as well as a remap.

awesome job mate, when i saw the pic in my thread i though you had an edition 25 and was gonna ask what you did with the wheels. got any rear interior pics? do you mind me asking what the bumpers cost + shipping to NZ? thinking of getting some for my front and rear later.

Interior pics? its just an empty box mate (Transporter)
The front bumper is the factory one and I just added the lower lip (130 pounds) They are fiberglass but fit amazingly well with no trimming / fitting required what so ever.
Side skirts are about 100 pounds for the pair, again fit extremely well but I did make a couple of brackets to make mounting them easier.
Fitted the lower lip then colour matched the whole bumper to the van, side skirts were painted then urethaned on.
