How much did the mini cooper wheel's sting you?
I tried the 16" 5 spoke & 17" multi spoke cooper S wheels on mine.
The 17" made it look like a 4x4 but the 16" suited it to tea!

With the overheating, is the car actually getting hot, or have you knocked the wire off the sensor?

When car is hot, feel the bottom radiator hose. if its not hot, the thermostat is jammed closed.
