    its a 1984 mk1 with:

    1.8 8v
    long ratio 5 speed
a big twin throat weber carby
    extractors
    electronic ignition
    2 1/4 inch exhaust
nice stiff pedders spring and shocks
    front sway bar
    front lower stress bar
14inch original vw rims (never seen any the same)

    mk2 interior (i think)

shes a bit rusty on the roof and is in bad need of a paint job!

I thought it must be that one. You bought it from ebay? I think they are Audi Mags. Nice looking car though. Where in NSW are you?

Those caps in the middle have the same part number for audi or vw ones, both exist.

Good work on the purchase, another one I did`nt have to buy. If you need any bits or help, give me a yell, I come up to newcy sometimes.

    Good buy

Yeah, looks very restorable. With a respray and rust removed she'll be a stunner. They are Audi mags. Seen 'em before.

yeah its a south african import...

would be cool to see you up here loon.. newy rocks..

except, out of 100+ vw's that rocked up for the newcastle euro car show the other day... there were only 3 golfs! (that was mine, my cousins beat up 76 LS, and gldgti's 78 diesel)... i think the people of newcastle need to be better educated!

you could also come pick up that 1.3 if you want...

I also have a couple sets of those wheels almost the same but one set are 15 × 6 ET45 and the other are 15 × 7ET25.
They are both made by Ronal & still have the original centre caps.
Sorry about the size of the picture.
This photo was taken when my dad first brought this 2 owner genuine GLD in 91/92 & the wheels, GTI grill surround & wheel arch trims were the first items he & I fitted.
I think it had less than 80K on the clock at the time.
    This had the 15× 6 ET45

    & this is present time with 490+K & rusting with 15 × 7ET25.
