    my 76

Finally got meself a Mk1 after a long time dreaming (metephorically and literally!) and searching and deciding.

I'm in love. She's fairly straight, original and pretty much stock.

Short term plans, and i've already got a few parts to get things rolling - lowered springs, mk1 GTi discs, front sway bar, 32/36 weber.

Then down the track i'll be thinking about coilovers, wheels (15" g60 steelies?), and then ultimately perhaps a engine conversion plus 5 speed...

I've got to thank revnit for the tip off - cheers bro, nice work!!! and Paulie71 for parts (note the chin spoiler!) and inspiration - thanks mate!!!

plus other VWWC folk who had given great advice, inspiration and/or parts. cheers dudes!

& thanks also to that mad f***er George!

    So here she be ...

Nice one! very clean looking car, sounds like a great base for a ripper project!

you'll love the 32/36 once it's on, so much better than the choker they've got standard. don't forget a to get a nice exhaust too though

Thanks man. It's got the standard cracked dash of course, and the top of the rear seat is a bit sun burnt, but otherwise its pretty tidy. it's also got four door front seats with some pulley system to have them flip forward, which looks a bit dodgy (altho works fine), but i'll be looking to fix that. Also headlining has some glue stains.

Cool! i'll have to search for some pics...

Thanks everyone for the comments. It's great to get the thumbs up from guys in the know.

I must admit, i did photograph it's best side. The RHS paint is showing it's age more, but still looks pretty good.

I've got a couple of electrical gremlins to iron out (wipers ain't been working, now fuel gauge just stopped working and LHS indicators only also just stopped working - i think maybe something is loose at the fusebox??), and i think the manifold gasket needs replacing - this could be a good opportunity to whack on the 32/36 and Passat manifold tho...
