Do you have any pictures?
What model is it?
cheers
Hi Guys,
I need some help in working out what head is on my car. The number on the head is 053103373.
I am lead to believe it is from a mk3 GTI. What is the best way to confirm this? Also can anyone assist in recomending a supplier for inlet manifolds?
Thanks Luke

the car is a mk1 with a 2lt block (mk3), 1.8lt head (think). It is running double webbers but it runs like a bag of crap. I want to ditch them for one webber or prefered option is fuel inj. pics attached.
thanks.
what is the engine number pre fix?
Have you had the engine properly tuned?
why do you think the engine is running bad? any more history about the engine and setup?
Engine number is *AGG174047*. I didn't build the car up so I dont know a whole lot of info.
The Engine is breaking down quite badly above 5,000rpm. I have taken it to two places now with no results. I have found that the previous owner made an adapter plate for the inlet manifold>head which is not a straight transition causing issues. need to ditch this.
cheers
do you want to sell the webers?
Im interested.

Welcome mate good to have another Mk1 onboard.
Do you know the history of the car? Is it a 2 door that was used for hill climbs etc... If so the owner was Chris then Bill and it is a Mk2 GTI head.
In regards to inlet manifolds look at this: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=28452
Who have you had try to tune it?
