25000kms and 1000kms of absolute car hell in VIC alpine region (Using Mobil 1 5W 30) in Suzuki Swift (178,000kms on the clock total), absolutely no oil usage.
If Japs can make engines why can't the Germans

Edit: The French can make engines too. :-P

Most 'French' engines these days are Japanese anyway. I believe my Megane's got an engine straight off a Nissan Tiida. I think...
See there's also the Renault-Nissan alliance and the Peugeot/Mitsubishi partnership thingy.

I was referring to my 1989 Peugeot 205gti, 1991 205 gti, and 1998 306 gti6 never burning oil, back then the motors were made in France. From memory Citroen built the engines for Peugeot (at least the 205 motors)

Ah well yes, at that time they were certainly French.

1,500kms in with the new breather pipe and heres my observations:

    * Cold starts have gotten worse - really rough
    * Soot disappeared but now it's back and big ol chunks are coming out
    * Oil consumption hasn't settled down - will need to top up over the next few hundred kms

    So win-win....as usual!

Except for the soot (luckily, my car is black) this has been exactly my experience.
Took the car back to the dealer only to be told that it was normal for the car to be rough for about 10 minutes after a cold start. Funny that it was never that noticeable before the pipe was changed.
They also claimed my car only used 0.4 L of oil since the replacement, conveniently forgetting about the 1 L I had added myself...
I also feel my fuel economy is worse (now about 7.5 L / 100 km) but that may be because the air conditioning is working harder these days... But I also don't feel like I have as much low end power as before. I realise this is pretty subjective.

HI ,i like to know what was the sympton problem related to the brake boost sensor? I have inconsistant feel of the initial braking as its selective. At times, the initial braking is either strong or sometimes feel soft and brake responce is not there. For the last 1year got the car check out but still no avail.Thank you. cheers tay

Well it may not be in your imagination if your valves are completely covered in carbon deposits and your piston rings don't seal against the cylinder wall

Same here although I've just been putting it down to the hot weather.

Supposed to be going back next week to have the clutches replaced again so will be bringing this up.
