    Tune Upgrades

It's probably been noted somewhere but I'm too lazy to search for it

But can someone confirm what the difference is in the upgrades(parts, power), ie stage 1, 2 etc? - hope that made sense.

    Stage/Phase 1 is software only.

Stage/Phase 2 varies by tuner but with Custom-Code we would expect you to have a FMIC, Large bore down pipe and some form of intake mods. A panel filter/SEAT intake/CAI. A TIP would be recommended too.

This is for the Ibiza Cupra but essentially the same engine.

How much is the CC Stage 2 tune?

I'd like to jump up straight up to the Stage 2 tune directly.

Rather not get the Stage 1 and then want more power lol

Phase 2 would be $1350 bearing in mind that you need at least the FMIC and downpipe before proceeding.

    Where in NSW are you?

    Hmm decision, decisions...

I was thinking of getting the seat intake / forge tip and exhaust system first before chipping it.

How much for the CC phase 1 Gavin?

$950 but me being in Adelaide would mean having to send me the ECU. I'd cover the cost of shipping both ways though. Unless you can rustle up a couple of jobs and I'll fly over to do them.

Doing the TIP and intake after chipping would not require a further tune up.

    Cheers

As awesome as 'Stage 2' sounds, you'll get massive wheelspin through the gears. You be better tricking up a stage 1 tune. I myself have the APR V2 tune (basically the V1 tune with more torque - also it's not a 'Stage 2' tune - confusing I know), larger intake pipe and BMC panel air filter. Before I spent money on getting that power to the ground, the power from just those mods made the car wheelspin everywhere. A full stage 2 tune IMO would just be pointless. make sure you consider this before throwing money at Stage 2.

Also consider that just a stage 1 tune from several companies will give you about a 40kW/110Nm at the flywheel gain over standard.

Has anyone on this forum done the stage 3 upgrade?

    Apr Stage 1 V2 provides a large kW & Nm increase - http://www.goapr.com.au/products/ecu...e_polo18t.html

but this looks insane - http://www.goapr.com.au/products/stage3_trans.html

This will be about the closest to that I reckon, once it hits the streets.

I have driven Shaneth's Polo which has Custom-Code Phase 2 on it and it pulls hard and doesn't light up everywhere. Might I suggest taking off the diving boots?

It is perfectly tractable, Shane's wife drives the car too and she can cope with it.

Maybe the V2 isn't best suited to your driving style?
