    Sway bar question

So I've ordered a whiteline RSB today, on reading the instructions available online, I've realised the bar is to be mounted at the centre to the torsion beam itself and not the body/chassis of the car as I have originally thought.

At first I thought it didn't make sense as the torsion beam itself is a big moving part pivoted at the trailing arms. Then I remembered the entire torsion beam axle IS a giant anti-roll bar by itself.

So in effect are you just increaasing the stiffness of the entire torsion beam axle by adding a sway/anti-roll bar?

It's a Pog - which has never had independent rear - been a torsion beam setup since 1975.

Even the Golf has always had the same design up until Golf5.

Most small hatches still use the torsion beam -you could call it semi-independent at astretch because the wheels do move independently to each other to a small degree but not fully independent.

    Even more sway bar question

Hi folks who've installed the RSB:

Are both holes on the end link supposed to be the same size? (10mm)

If they are then the idiots gave me the wrong links (or wrong bushes), mine are 10mm and 8mm

    GRRRRHHHH

without checking i would sugest you get all the components out and check if it fits together. ie. what size is the bolts they supplied.

No bolt supplied will fit the hole and there's no mention of any 8mm bolt so I guess I've answered my own question, just wanted to get a confirmation whether they gave me the wrong links or wrong bolts....
