ok good news guys and gals ive been in contact with several uk workshops/websites, and im in current negotiation with one in particular that has offered me the best deal.im not allowed to mention his name, workshops name or the website (which is understandable hes got a business to run also)

now right now your probably asking yourself is this guy dodgy well ive already taken the liberty of checking and comfirming his website, not only is it legit but it has also been in operation for 7+ years, ive also googled the website, his name and the name of his workshop to see if he has recieved bad publicity, to which i can only find good reports across multiple forums.if you want a confermation a little more close to home his name was originally given to me by someone on this forum, who also does not wish to be named.sorry if this all sound incognito, but unfortunatly thats how its got to be to get these kinds of prices.(if everyone got them for these prices theyd in all probability be out of business)

hes offering each forge fmic at around 400 pounds($839.15 au) each + shipping. now the other strategy to keep costs down is to strategically ship them(since each of us live all over the place) to avoid import tax if we can.
any ideas would be glady appreciated.

Mate I think you will be looking at over 100 pound for shipping each which will mean you will have to pay duty and gst as well.

    Thats a good price..

A friend of mine said he paid $1500 for the Forge kit.. half price.. wow...

You may as well ship them separately as the GST and Import duties on each will cover the shipping costs anyway..

    If separately may avoid costs..

Yeah mike I think over 100pound as well. Anything over $1000 you get charged 10% Duty and 10% GST. And that is on the invoice total including postage. So just on todays exchange rate for 500 pound your looking at $1250 landed. Don't forget forge kit cones with a reinforced front crash bar which makes the shipping price high.

sounds good to me... isnt import duties calculated on the value of the item and not the value of shipping?

surely we can get creative here....
