    Apr V1 Vs Apr V2

    Hi,

I recently had the APR version 1 software setup. I upgraded my downpipe to APR downpipe and Cat and had the Version 2 software loaded.

I am hessitant to say the APR V2 is any better than the APR V1.

I think the APR V1 pulled harder in the top end to be honest.. The APR V2 seems to come on pretty hard but as you rev it out feels like it runs out of steam. After about 5000rpm, any sort of thrust disappears.

Has anyone actually measured the power of APRv1 vs APR v2 or done any runs down the quarter mile with the different software??

Interested to see actual results on the track.... V1 VS V2

I reckon it comes down to Street(V2) vs track (V1).
I rarely get above 5000rpm as I only street drive so low end whiz might suit me more..I guess track drivers work more around the 5000-7000rpm?? range so V1's better for them...I'm getting V2 tomorrow..hopefully I'm happy with it.
I down have a downpipe tho.
I found tho that after installing the dogbone engine mount V1 appeared more "torqey" down low and the top end take off wasn't as noticeable...don't know how this will effect V2?

should have used the search function mate, here is an elaborate thread on the topic already, with plenty of thoughts comparing the two versions.... http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...pr+version+2.0

p.s. from about page 6 is when the REALLY useful info starts pouring in.

i'm not trying to destroy your thread mate but it just seems silly starting a new thread on something that has already been discussed in depth.
