"Shimmy' when stopping from very low speed

    Wife's 2009 MK6 103 TDI Golf (6sp DSG)

She reports a few clunks lately - I have not experienced any when I drive it but she drives it a lot more.
I've been meaning to get the DSG service done (car is at over 80,000 kms now) so I have just got that done (DSG oil & filter)
Car seems to drive a bit smoother now.
The clunk however is still there.
I took it around the block today and still can't get it to clonk.

The odd thing though is I discovered when really slowly rolling down a small incline backwards (driveway) in neutral at way less than walking pace I brake and it feels like (just after it comes to a halt) that the whole motor or sub-frame is rocking. Can reproduce every time. It almost feels like the whole motor & gearbox is slightly rocking back and forth 2 or 3 times. The car is completely stopped - feels like someone has grabbed the motor and is rocking it fore and aft quite forcefully. This I suspect may be the issue and not a DSG issue at all (like I first suspected)

    Anyone have any ideas?

Dual mass flywheel on the way out perhaps.

Ok sorry for the kind of weird 1st thread. The 'shimmy' to me is not related to the current issues with the car that I was trying to diagnose.

Seems like just before you come to a stop the brakes (back mainly) really grab and cause the whole car to kind of rock. It seems impossible to just ever so gently stop, instead you get a subtle 'grab' just before a full stop and the car 'rocks' on its suspension - that is the only as I can describe it. Almost like how on a bike someone shoves a piece of wood in the spokes - the wheel stops suddenly, but in this case it's the last very little bit that grabs.

Anyway, back to the actual issue with the car.

The 'clunk' got worse and worse with the changes getting quite erratic and downright scary at times. Now there is often a swishing & grating noise before it clunks.
Diagnosed as most likely a bad clutch pack. Apparently the symptoms are a little unusual but to me makes sense. Sounds to me like there is a piece of metal fouling the clutch plates at times - other times it's smooth but more and more now it changes very roughly. No mechatronics codes logged.

No DSG oil change until recently. Oil in there was super clean according to the mechanic. Car has been driven gently, never 'crept' in traffic with many country km's. May just be one of those things.
    Updates to come..

Posted an update but it somehow vanished. Issue was clutch pack related. A large (approx. 200mm diameter) circlip had worked its way out in the gearbox (clutch pack side) and the clutch pack was literally flapping about and scraping on the housing. New clutch pack, new oil and as good as new.
