The fact is that the rattle is not causing any damage to the car, its cosmetic only and for that reason they dont need to fix it. Unless it can be proven that its causing the motor damamge. Its NOT the turbo, its the acuator rod ... VW have confirmed in writing to me that this is the cause of the issue. I have also had an independant mechanic look at it to see if they can fix it.
You can replace the acuator but you will need to replace the turbo as well because the assholes at VW decided to permamently attach the two to each other ...
