Possible solutions for people complaining about:

    volume button - wrong side

indicators - wrong side (you need co-driver)

and people like me - annoyed by rattle

It should be closed as it's the breeding ground of stupidity. If anyone does care it' a bit sad. Left, Right? Seriously... It doesn't matter. If you're indicating and changing gears at the same time, you're doing it wrong! You can't drive! Buy a bus pass.

I just feel like starting to chant 'fight, fight, fight...' It's the only reason I'm watching this thread.
Sorry. I thought the use of quotes was so that you could respond/discuss particular comments that some one makes.

lucky the pedals aren't subject to the same mirroring inconsistencies...lol...then there really might be some mortal consequence, IMO.

I've heard serious comment about excluding cars with lh indicators from short lists...can you believe? Well, not until this thread.

Indicators are an over rated nicety, IMO. I don't trust what some geezer tells me with their indicator when it comes to giving way. The attitude on the road/suspension is more reliable and won't be subject to the last moment change of idea (I'll leave 'change of mind' out of the comment for fear of confusing most driving being done under deliberate and considered thought).
If there isn't room and you are depending on the good judgement or will of the other road users then be sure to pay your insurance. Still, I use them. Well at least I reckon I do? Even with one rh and on lh indicator car each that I swap between almost daily. Sometimes I get an impromptu windscreen wipe or pause for thought about what I'm actually driving.

The wipers are a more confusing transition between VW and other (Asian) marques, IMO.

Last thing Australia needs is another ADR spec. demanding further small market, cost increasing, configurations to reduce small volume varient AKA 'R' viability. Bah!

And no smilies or other emoticons 'cos I couldn't be arsed, IMO. There! LOL. ; ) Hyprocrite.

...and, and every time I see 'mfl' somehow I think there has been an 'i' dropped. How dyslexically degenerate must 'I' be? Sorry mfl.

It will improve usability for all automotive users by designing hand controls that conform to driver needs and, in so doing, enhance driving comfort and convenience.
That ISO doesn't sound like it's saying the indicator stalk should be on the opposite side to the gear lever but rather that if it's on the LHS, and you move it down you will indicate left and if it is on the RHS and you move it up it will indicate left. So the motion matches the direction.
