warm the car up gently over a period of 10 mins or so, changing up earlyish etc etc, dont let it rev too high.
then, once warm, KILL IT. no, this isnt a joke. hammer the fcking thing. then, let it cool down for a minute or so before switching off.
i got badly laughed at by extended family members when i told them this (after they'd asked about the running in period).
my response: "sorry, it's not your mitsubishi magna, or your mazda 3, or your holden jackaroo v6 - it's a turbo engine that needs load to help turbo seals bed in, to prevent glazed bores, etc"
on the weekends, take it up old road or nasho, varying revs, giving it plenty. you dont want the engine to be sitting at the same revs for extended periods of time (eg buying a new car and driving from sydney to perth... your engine wont be happy).
