I feel I'm repeating myself but it's almost time for the front brakes to go on - second time lucky.

The suspension is all back together, flip kit and ball joint extenders installed, and a touch of paint on the discs so the dont look terrible and rusty in 5 minutes.

What did you paint the discs with Mick? :)

Heat proof caliper paint - its only a light coating just to prevent cosmetic oxidizing - not sure how well it will work (obviously it won't remain on the braking surface) so we will see.

Well a major part of the vision has finally been realised this weekend.

Ronals get my vote , besides wilwoods are a pain to fit under rs's.

Well as it turns out neither the BBS or Ronals clear the calipers as a direct bolt up... :(

Trials continue.

wow that looks great!

Thanks. Everything you see is either new or retrimmed - it is like sitting in a brand new car at the moment!

The only thing left to work out is how to get the parcel shelf supports to sit correctly, there must be variations between earlier and late model bodywork or supports - so need to do some dremelling to make that work properly.

Selling the old 16v and gearbox very soon as well. Time for new beginnings!

Seems like I keep going around in circles, but every time I pull it apart it goes back together better than the time before. All the details are coming together nicely...

RHS hub has been sorted and refitted. Situation is, the stance is spot on now...

And more of the interior. Door cards were fitted up and along with some fettling on the parts that all seem to use different standards despite all stating they fit a MK1 - door hardware on as well.

Put an adjustable cam gear on as it is running KR cams causing it to be lazy low down and I think I will arrange a chip from Germany that helps that cam profile. All that is really left to do are brakes and an exterior detail.

She is on her wheels and the brakes are all sorted.

Have to bite the bullet on the engine though and pony up the cash to get something in the bay that suits the rest of the car. Might take some shots over the weekend, but for the past 4 months work on her has been at a complete standstill unfortunately due to family.

Family always comes first, they are more important than anything else.

You could of spent cash on a 16V without a Seat attached. :P

06-01-2013, 04:12 PM
Your right putting kids first is the main game.

The weiß will have a 16v in good time. The ITBs are there as is the ECU. Just need some time, planning and then she will be what I originally planned.

But here are the girls this afternoon.

I remember it was on ebay about 3 years ago, sold by the guy who bought it off you Mik. No idea what happened to it after that. I was that close to acquiring it though!

Would be great to see what the new owner ended up doing with it, hopefully kept it as is, was in good knick when I went to look at it!

I didn't know it had sold again after I moved it along, I hope that it is in good hands also.

Asking after a car that you've sold is similar to looking up an old flame on Facebook years on - sometimes it pays to leave bygones be bygones ;)
