Son is putting his '09 Golf on Carsales - Need advice as to what price to put on it?

My son is going overseas in about 5 weeks and has decided to pop his Golf on Carsales to see if he can sell it before he goes, we have been debating what sort of price to put on it, like a lot of owners I reckon he is thinking of putting too big a price on it and I doubt it will sell. I am only after some valued opinions as to what you think would be a fair price to put on it. Desciption below.

Late 2009 VW Golf VI Comfortline, TDI DSG, first registered in Dec. '09, bought new in Feb '10 with a 100km on the clock.
It has the 'Sports Pack and Adaptive Suspension', tinted windows, it has done about 22,000km, Amorosis Red, pretty much as new, cloth interior, think that is about it.

What do you think would be a good starting point to put on it.

I think if you took about 30% off what you paid would be a good starting point. See how you go with that.

a quick search on carsales.com.au for similar model/options will be a good guide.. Its a buyers market, so depends how quickly he wants it gone...

Thinking of buying an '09 Golf TDI DSG after peoples opinions.

Hi, my son has a December 2009 VW Golf TDI DSG with sportspack and the adaptive suspension, it has done 22,000km, he has had it on Carsales for around a month or so and not had much interest in it. He is moving to live in London he leaves next Tuesday so I will have the car stored at my home. I am tossing up that maybe I might buy it for myself, it is a very nice little car. What I don't know are there any problems with this model, like motor or DSG issues etc, and what are the service and repair costs like, as if I decide to buy it I will keep it for a good 10 years. I don't want to buy it and regret it when it comes to servicing repairs, brake jobs etc. No good asking my son as it has only had one service and has only done 22,000km so all is good at the moment. I am mainly asking what these 2lt TDI DSG's are like long term, appreciate your thoughts as I don't know a lot about them except it seems to be a nice sort of car to travel in.

Hey mate. I merged your question here, simply because you already started a thread about this car...
But if you want to find the answer to your question already answered, then do a search on 103TDI. You'll find stuff such as:
    http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tdi-59336.html
    http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...ppy-41944.html
    http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tdi-39597.html

You could also look at existing threads in the MKV forum, as some of those TDI's have been around for much longer than the MK6 obviously. Cheers.
