Well apparently for a short run of Tiguans, the VIN is programmed into the TCU when it is built
SO an off the shelf TCU can't just be "flashed" with my VIN

supposedly


Otherwise I guess...

Well as a complete turnaround (to my mood)
I can't express in words how impressive VW are right now

yup - crazy system though

TCUs for other models are "blank" - they just update them when they replace them
Perhaps there's a black market for Tiguan gearboxes :rolleyes:

Oh - and apparently for the Tiguan, the part that has most likely failed (or is failing - all good this morning) is made VIN specific!
