I can only think it has to do with the Golf GTI VI track day promotion that I won some time ago. Maybe they got my address from that time or they were impressed with my driving skills!
The local town sheriff walks in tha bar and asks the barman in a slow texan drawl.
"You see a man carrying a brown paper bag, wearing brown paper pants, brown paper shirt, brown paper vest and...
Seems I have been invited to test drive the new Golf R. My wife just called me to tell me the some fancy package arrived in the mail today.
What do I do? . . . hmmm . . . . decisions; decisions.
My Golf 2.0 TDI (Pacific) got hit by some engine quirk while I was up on the Victorian High Country for a week. It was parked outside during and it gets a bit nippy at night. On one morning, I went...
Shame.
Hope you get your tandem bike fixed soon.
New diesel engine for Golf? Maybe not . . .
As I have always believed. You can never hide. Read this.
I'm sceptical about this. With my foot on the brake, the fuel flow rate on the MFD might indicate 0.9-1.1 Litre per hour. Put it in N and that figure drops to 0.7-0.8 l/hr.
Plus the fact you can...
It's called Trade Practices Act.
The problem is VW would have a difficult time to argue against a customer; therefore they hedge their bets and take precautions.
Unfortunately, some stories...
I honestly find it difficult to believe 'Aussie heat' could be the sole reason for it having to be de-tuned.
Something in the back of my mind is thinking the real reason for the de-tune is...
Well, then . . looking forward to hearing about overheating engines in future posts on this forum.
Australia’s extreme temperatures has forced Volkswagen to reduce the power of its performance hero.
Australia has been denied the most powerful version yet of the Volkswagen Golf.

No he didn't.
But now that it's cleared up. Thanks.
This doesn't answer my question. There appears to be some confusion also about what model year we are talking about hear with OP stating 06 and another one stating 08. If the latter, the FSI came...
Topped up today at 26000km and only needed 800ml. So it has done a little over 11,000km since service. No oil light, though. Pretty reasonable consumption given some of the horror stories you read.
Forgive me, but doesn't the FSI come with manual or standard 6 speed automatic transmission? Also, isn't it non-turbo?
Yeah, but they didn't burn out your retina if you just happened to glance at them! I undertand these things are mandatory in Europe and the US, but do they need to be so bright? In time when they...
Driving into work this morning, I had a Mk6 TSI behind me with DRLs on. Bloody hell! But they're bright! How long before some unlucky sod gets pulled over by the constabulatory for running 'fog...
:duh: Duh! You are quite right, Sir!
Not bad. That's 6km.
Maybe you've never started it up and you pushed it 6000km?
:duh:
As an aside, that clunking noise under sudden acceleration: is this occuring as you pull away from when stopped at a traffic light by any chance? If so, you can prevent this by taking your...
Take it back to get it checked.
VWs can use quite a bit more oil than one might expect, so the oil light coming on at 12000km may actually mean what it is trying to say to you. You're oil level...
I think it should also have a W mode for use by the wife, that way the fuzzy logic of the DSG caters for her style or driving while D & S caters for mine! ;-)
