Its not my van but is the same as ours and as far as I know its an oil cooler on a diesel engine , my bad as I posted the question using "diesel " oil cooler , so that's why its gotten confusing .
I did post that we fitted a " hub spacer " call it what you want but hub is very different to stud spacers which as you pointed out are illegal .
Not sure what your pointing out ours was to keep the wheel centralised once fitted not a spacer behind the studs .
Yes that was on my older T5 under the car directly behind the wheel which goes off road first , ours got punctured leading to diesel spraying out onto the road causing the van to do a great version...
We fitted Holden Alloy wheels with the exact same stud pattern as the Van , when they fitted them they fitted a hub spacer to each wheel and they have been there for 12 years with no problems .PS...
Its at the front of the engine just near the oil filter alloy thing with cooling fins around the outside .55832
Hi asking for a friend he has a 2012 T5.1 2 litre turbo and has a water leak around the diesel cooler on the front of the engine . Has anyone changed one and what sort of job was it to do . Thank You...
Follow up on the key and ignition , found a place here on the southside of Brisbane who repaired the broken key fob and the recoded a brand new one as well , very happy with service and price was...
Yes ours does have the flap but it still got past !
I replaced ours with an Ebay one and its still going strong nearly 8 years later .
Well ours is 12 years old so lots of turning during that time .
Broke the folding key part off the fob the other day and had to resort to the manual spare key {could not find the second fob DOH ! } So been using the spare key for the last few days and then this...
We had a rock punch a hole in the diesel fuel cooler on our early T5 , VW placed it on the LH side of the van behind the front wheel which in RHD models would be the most frequent one to go off the...
Yours must be a more upgrade model VW which the part seems different to the ones in our vans .
I had mine fitted after a mates van spat the serpentine belt into the timing belt and did some serious damage to the top end . I knew about the Robustness kit and at the time did not bother to get...
Pendle Performance UK is a specialist company doing this , a few years back there was a local agent but after Covid he went quiet . Try the Australian Agent for Pendle Performance Australia his...
First thing is to check Serpentine and timing belt for wear , second and this is important get what VW describe as a "Robustness Kit " its a divider which fits up between those two belts to prevent...
Ok check these out packs of 10 or 20...

The funny noise is referred to by those in the know as the "moo cow sound " ours which is single turbo makes that noise for around 8 years so nothing to worry about .
Maybe some sort of enameling process rather than just paint .
Geez and I thought I was the only one, glad to hear others are just as fallible.
Exactly right it was the early days of dash cameras and it smoked for a second or two which killed it .
Just don,t make the mistake I made years ago when I wanted a usb device in the dash area , I decided to remove the ciggy plug off the end of the cable and after hard wiring it realised that the plug...
Its not that difficult that guy went way overboard with the whole instrument cluster out , I can only recall removing the lower dash panels beside the steering column and the connection point was...
