Thank you. No ABS for ours (or any NZ model AFAIK). We’ve owned the car from new and gave it to our daughter for her 21st, about 8 years ago. It’s been generally very reliable for a 20-plus year old...

My daughter has a 1997 VW Polo. She’s about to have a baby and is looking to purchase a pushchair. I’m concerned that the internal dimensions of the boot might be too small for her first choice.

Just to rub salt in the wound (sorry) it IS an option for us Kiwis on the other side of the Tasman. Would love to hear an explanation of that sales logic!

I don't want to turn them off at any time for safety (and I suspect, legal) reasons, but I would like to be able to change them for a bright white bulb or an LED equivalent. Any recommendations for...
For anyone interested, there are a few Golf R cars available for sale right now in NZ. My local Christchurch dealer has this one for sale:
Volkswagen Golf R 221kW (300Hp) 4Motion 2014 | Trade Me...
Did you manage to get any shots of the new Scout?

The reason I'm curious about this is to understand just how low I had run the car. Was it running on fumes or maybe it still had 5L in it? There must be a definitive answer and I'm guessing that...
Finally, 2 months after I took delivery of my 103kW TSI Highline, it was time for some fuel. The car has had a very quiet start to its life, covering just 614KMs in those 2 months, all of which were...
+2. It's been "broken" for about 24 hours and I can't find any info online on how to fix the error. I've tried reinstalling Tapatalk, but receive the same error.
Yes, I was running a 2013 Polo 6r GTI here until I traded it recently for my new Golf and had the "98" challenge, as this was the VW recommended minimum for that car.
320 Kbps CBR MP3. In my opinion, that's more than adequate for use in a car, given that you are hardly in an audiophile environment.
Incidentally, I do use FLAC when listening to my home stereo.
Well, that would be interesting in NZ. 98 is only available from selected BP outlets. 91 is standard here with 95 if you need premium. So, 9 out of 10 service stations would not stock fuel of this...
+1. The original badge had history and tradition. The new badge is anonymous and resembles something off a Holden or even worse, like Great Wall.
Slightly off topic, but NZ also gets Skoda models well ahead of Aus. The Octavia VRS has been here for several months (and very nice it is too, with goodies like the Discover Media Pro as standard).
Don't forget that's NZ$, although we're not that far off parity these days :-).
Nice review of the new VRS in The Auckland Herald today.
Digital Rights Management (DRM) on tracks you've purchased will prevent you from sharing files with friends.
Your iTunes library should be unaffected by copying your music to an SD card.

Agreed, they are great cars, but it's still a competitive market out there and in NZ at least, dealers are still keen to sell more cars than their opposition. I had no difficulty in negotiating ~10%...
All options you've listed will work well, but I'd personally favour an SD card for something that can just be left in the car and requires zero care and maintenance once you've loaded up your music....
I'm surprised they sold you a demo with that number of KMs on the clock. I thought that Highlines were in short supply and as a consequence, demos had to be kept for 3 months minimum?
In the end, I opted for a 128GB USB pen drive (formatted FAT32 incidentally). Works perfectly via the MDI USB interface that Golfs come with as standard in NZ. So, problem solved, plus it's a small...
Agreed. Bluetooth A2DP streaming audio quality is excellent and to my ageing ears at least, indistinguishable from CD or MP3 inputs.
Completely bizarre that au-spec cars don't have this but the nz-spec cars just across the ditch do. Why would they bother differentiating in such a minor way? You'd think it would be more trouble...
Hmm...the nearest I can get to this in my Golf 7 is to hold the menu button down for a few seconds and get into a service menu. From there, I'm presented with the following information:
Installed...
I've given this a go. First, I should say that I have a MY14 NZ-spec 103kW Highline, so this may require a different coding change to the Australian spec cars. The long coding is a little different...
