How long would it take a mechanic who is unfamiliar with VW's in general to remove and replace the sump in a V6 4Mo ??
Just curious is all.

Maybe my post was a big vague :-)
The car has not been displaying the "Service in xxxxx kilomiters" message recently so there has been no warnings to indicate that it was due any time soon. BUT it...
Somehow I don't think resetting the service interval is going to fix the car running on what sounds like 3 of the 6 cylinders :-)
Not taken the Bora out for a while so I decided that as today was a nice day I would fire it up and go for a spin. Fired up OK but then a warning tone sounded and the Service Now message appeared on...
Thats unfortunate LOL
Well I washed my Bora this weekend and cleaned out the interior as I am selling it, I have too many vehicles (4 to be exact) and only 2 licensed drivers in the house.
so 2001 V6 4mo, in basic black...
Well that damn rock through the sump saga continues....
Got the sump replaced no problem there, but when the mechanic was running the engine to check for leaks etc he noticed a miss at the top of...

Mine was petty much the same, it is just recently that it kicks up to 2000. A quick blip gets it back under control once it is warmed up.
Will try and get that done this weekend if the weather plays along, I don't fancy working under the bonnet when the outside temp is in single digits :-)
My Bora 4mo is having issues at the moment, the engine will fire up on first turn every morning without fail, but lately it will rev to 2k rpm instead of the usual tick over 1k that it used to do on...

What did I do to my Bora today, well apparently I abused it a bit :-{
I had to take the daughters Pajero iO off my front lawn where it has been sitting awaiting a new transfer case, so I borrowed a...
It looks sweet with those wheels.
let me know if you want to get rid of it, last sump cost me $600+ to replace,
but then my Bora is hella low, I cant get a jack underneath the front :-)
sounds like you already have problems.
Double clutching will not save your clutch, after all it is getting twice the use for a single shift.
And as others here have stated, getting it wrong can be expensive.
Back when I was young and a...
I remember reading a motoring magazine article many years ago about the release of the Renault 12 in Australia and they promoted it within the trade mags by doing an economy run. The particular...
The badgless grill I just received from ebay has the notch filler for the Bora bonnet.

The reason for using nitrogen in aircraft tyres is not pressure but because of the condensation freezing and the instability that can cause, can you imagine a chunk of ice forming on the inside of...
Well today I dropped the front bumper off, took out the passenger side headlight and re-attached the internal mechanism that adjusts the headlight up and down. The stupid thing is only attached by a...
and doesn't help either, a waste of $32.
unless your running your tyres at temps well below freezing then there is no reason to use nitrogen, dry compressed air will do the same job (and a well...
