It’s alive! (?!?)
I might have fixed the issue with my GTI. I bought a used ECU and physically transferred the immobiliser chip.
The car has been idling for about an hour since and seems fine....

Have you had any luck mk4dad?
My GTI has the same issue and a genuine new ECU + labour is getting close to 50% of the value of the car.
Omg Snowy! I hit 277777 in mine a couple of weeks ago!
Yeah, great point which I didn't cover in the first message.
I've sanded, cleaned and greased the grounding points under the battery. I've checked other locations for heat damage, but can't find...
Hey guys,
I just got back from a road-trip and noticed that my battery mounted fusebox has melted - For the second time since new.

Nice!

I'll be there :) Not sure if I'll have the rack and bike this year.
I think I paid between $300 and $500 for the brand new kit, minus spoiler. Steal :)

ESP not working is probably going to be a dealbreaker for roadworthy too.
Maybe you could clear the fault codes and see if that stops the light from coming on.
GTI's didn't come with rain sensing wipers in Australia. R32's and maybe Bora V6 did.
As above, the sensors are part of the rear view mirror and they have a power cable (in conduit) that...
Holy crap, I'm on the poster!
Cool, I'll take a look!
Engine mods are minimal, but the pipes and clamps are 14 years old and have never been changed. I can see some residue in a few places where it may be leaking so I...
It's probably time I replaced the intake/intercooler hoses on my GTI. I know that the AGU engine has slightly different sensors/pipes than some international models. I would prefer an AGU designed...
Be careful pushing things down the drain. The hoses aren't attached very well to the sunroof and they can pop off if you're unlucky.
I blame facebook.
No mate, I suck.
If you're available, can you please give me an estimate of the cost and time required for you to do the install?
Brilliant.
Are you still available to perform the installs? I've been practising my soldering, but I'm terrible at anything more complicated than joining wires.

Sounds too good to wreck?
Why the hell would anyone think that shaved doors on a 4 door would look any good? The proportions are all wrong.
Thanks Ian - Can't wait!
Are you able to clarify your install fee?
How long would you need the cluster for?
Cheers!
No worries. Thanks for the instructions and for organising everything.
