I used to run 17x8 ET35 with RE003s in 215/40.. Rubbed a little when (very) low, but otherwise the car was all the better for it.
Eddy's old bus? Nice place to start! It'll be interesting to see how it compares in performance to your previous.
Remember though that the compression ratio is entirely dependent on the combustion chamber size. That same piston running with a different head will provide a different compression ratio.

I'd be surprised if they weren't single-use-only bolts, which don't take well to being torqued a second time - that's exactly what they do!
Always wanted the ‘glass front guards to fit some big wheels with proper tyres.
Consider me jealous!
Audi/VW Wheel Stud Conversion Kits - Motorsport Hardware
;)
I've still got a wheel stud conversion kit at home.... I think. You'd just need some ball-seat nuts for the OE wheels.
Exactly!
My wife's Jetta however, I can't even SEE it, let alone figure out how to change it.
Sounds like a job for someone elsej:
I did mine without removing anything - lost some skin off the knuckles, but no worse than anything else on these things:confused:
That's why mine has been running cool for about two years
I guess I really should get on with it
Mine had 11mm toe-in back in the day - I can certainly vouch that the Whiteline shims made a massive difference!
Ahhh, I see!

I bought my K04 from ECS, search under mk4 Golf.
Not at all. No air blast required and you can’t see the wheel lips when you drive along behind the car.
Depends on brand and profile, not just the width.
Yeah, cheers mate - couldn't have been happier with how they panned out. The Jetta even tows my mini on a car trailer with these on, a package that certainly turns heads!
I'm also looking for some...
Hi guys, nearly sold these a few years ago but decided to refurb them and run them. Glad we did, our trusty Jetta never looked as good. Anyways, time marches on and my Wife now has a new job (good)...
Geez, it was a while ago but from memory the adjusters stayed put where they are, and i just added the brace beneath it and bolted through both.
Yes, it was (very) low. Bunnings speedhumps were...
nigg
Hi mate - great writeup, sounds like you had a blast and it's always nice when the car largely plays along - even if there's some niggling issues.
FYI, I had the UR brace and Eddy's...
I had the large Forge FMIC on mine - the crash bar did not need to be modified.

Combi valve has coolant behind it on the head. It's been a few years and i must admit i don't remember much...
Bowdens Own do a great one; Pong Go Pong-Go - Lovely smelling deoderiser for your car.
I've had a mechanic do that before too - makes you wonder...
I was there at the 'ring two weeks ago.. my session got cancelled before I could have a go :(
Next time gadget.... Next time...
