People ARE buying FIXED vehicles. Its happenning. Its just that VW are having trouble selling them. Little wonder.
When I was filling at my local about a week ago there was someone there putting a mk6 tdi wagon on a towtruck right in the middle of the forecourt.
Pretty sure I know what happened there :-(
Theres a pretty decent documentary on NitFlux on the dieselgate scandal in the US - the show is called Dirty Money, and the episode is called "Hard Nox". Worth a watch, its pretty interesting.

check with a tuner or two.... they are the best people to tell you.
If you are getting no change in sensor data, seems like that would mean the sensor is broke.... but I can't confirm that from the VCDS data you have supplied.
dunno mate, arcadelts signature makes him seem like a bonafide enthusiast whos been avoiding an annoying thread.
No dude, this is an enthusast forum for enthusiasts, not a place for disgruntled VW owners to vent.
If you can drive to gosford I can scan it for you.
Oh dear!
It sounds like valves kissing piston crowns to me:(
If you can beg borrow or steal a borescope inspection camera thing, you may be able to confirm this by removing an injector or a...
Leaking injector is about the only other thing I can think of that might cause a similar issue. You could test that by loosening injector unions one by one as its running and listening for any change...
Can you take a video of it running and post it on youtube for me?
The timing signal read in VCDS comes from the 5th injector, which has a needle lift sensor. This is what supplies the timing data to the ECU.
If the timing control piston is/was seized, this is...
Yes, but that is not what the OP was talking about.... and benough was not clear about whether he was using a restricting plate for the EGR flow as you describe or using it in the absence of an EGR...
You should definitely block that hole. Tap it and put a bolt in it, weld it, put a threaded barb in it and run a boost gauge off it, but you should block it.
Its not a good idea to drive with a massive boost leak (what you have) because it works the turbocharger harder than it normally would. Theres a chance of overspeeding the turbo if you really got up...

See attached image of the ACV engine, I have annotated the position of the cover over the timing piston bore.
If you decide to remove the cover and take a look inside, know these things:...
You should hear an obvious change in the "diesel" rattle. If I rememeber correctly (its been a while since I did one of these) it should be "normal, then loud (adnvanced) then quiet (retarded).

What do you mean you have corrected this? And also, was this not part of the normal timing belt adjustment procedure that you referred to having happened ~10kkm previously?
Aside from that, I...
You will get CEL after about 50km of driving... but thats about the extent of the negative effects.
I would also check for earthing problems. Might be a bad earth
Reminds me of my mk5 tdi I bought.... got it with 240,000km on it. Put some poly bushings in the front and the damned thing felt like new again. Only other problem really was the drivers door wiring...
What evidence do you have of this claim?
Also, with regard to the paper filter - of what significance is this? THe paper flter holds up fine cycling temperature from ambient to 100C and back again...
