Problem is I don't think there is a genuine VW steel protector for the B7. Local dealer doesn't have it in their system, and I haven't found it in any international VW accessory brochures.

That's a real pity Davo. Hope you get your money back
We'll have to find another source
I've now returned the plastic protection strip to the dealer. Went in and said "I think you've given me the wrong one, I asked for stainless steel, this one's plastic".
When the guy looked up...

I was going to email them about alternate shipping options to try and bring the...
The reason I wasn't considering the clear film is that I expected dirt build up around the edges of the film, essentially highlighting the film on the white paint.
I reckon a metal plate will...
I'm looking for metal load sill protection (AKA scuff plate, bumper protection, etc) for MY13 Passat Wagon. The only option in the accessories propaganda is the clear film, which is not what I want....

I think it's shiny on Mk5 R32 - looks great when its clean.
When I do this, both displays show an "¡0" on both displays. No amount of knob twiddling changes the displays.
I made sure I had dual zone and AC on. Anyone know what I'm not doing right?
I think the V6 in the R32 was dropped because it wouldn't meet the new Euro emission standards...I'm sure I read that here somewhere

Seems I could have done better, but oh well, I love the car :)
VW specs for Golf say the 103kW engine has compression ratio of 18:1 - the 125kW 18.5:1.

Ahh yes. It's been a while since I've been there, but I think the speed limit has been dropped from 80 to 60 (or lower in places), so not quite as fun as it once was.
Cheers guys, thanks for the explanation.
BTW, not upset, just curious.
Think I'll start with the driver course for now...any recommendations for Melbourne?
So this all sounds fantastic, but the cynic in me is saying "too good to be true".
If this is such an improvement, how come VW factory didn't tune it this way? I could understand (though not be...
Another new GT TDI owner here too!
I have to agree with BarneyBoy though, it is a novelty to spot GTs on the road, especially the TDIs.
Got the Blue Graphite too, love it. Fun to drive quick,...
