I am looking at putting a set of steel wheels on my T5 and I like the look of the ROH Blac Trak. Only issue is the centre bore size is 65.5mm which is 0.4mm bigger than the T5 hub size. Is this and...

How about a black vinyl wrap on the whole roof, the ones I have seen look pretty good.
The cooler that corrodes is the exhaust gas to water not the oil to water. There are two coolers in the unit and as the fins in the gas/water cooler breakdown due to the hot gas the aluminium...
The biturbo runs a bit hot, I fitted a darkside developments oil cooler to mine and I have not seen temps above 99 degs since fitting, used to routinely get up to 108 when running around. Not tried...
Hey mate, to centre bore mount these wheels I assume requires an adaptor ring?
Sounds like you need to go to someone who knows T5’s, VW dealerships are hit and miss. Have you checked fuel filter and pump?
should only have to remove the grill as the cooler sits on top of the intercooler and bolts onto the slam panel at the top
Does anyone know if the coolant bottle cap just has a pressure release valve for over pressure? Is there a secondary valve or function for any purpose?
I have ordered a gas tester kit for CO2 in the coolant but still not got to the bottom of the problem. Agree I should not have to install the oil cooler although I would like to lower the oil temps...
I plan to mount mine as per this photo

Yes imported from UK, $520 all in delivered as I also bought an additional 19 row cooler. Couldn’t decide what size to get so figured for extra $50 I’ll get a 13 and 19 row. Means I will have one...
I have the 132kW bi turbo and I see high temps of 120 degs when fully loaded for camping. I am fitting a darkside developments oil cooler to lower these temps when loaded and driving on the motorway...
Autobahn Diagnostics in Brookvale
Think I will try the test. I am also fitting a Darkside Developments oil cooler which will reduce the operating oil temp to protect the engine a bit on the hot loaded up days, can't do any harm and...
I am having a similar overheating issue but the van drives fine with no indication of a problem unless I am fully loaded and going uphill at which point the oil temp climbs to about 118+ and the van...
So water pump and thermostat replaced along with timing belt. Though I had solved it as van ran fine for a few journeys, however when loaded up for camping and we hit some big hills I had the coolant...
Found the venting location, the bottle vents through the cap but the liquid comes out one of the holes in the bottom which is as per design.
took the car for a drive today and all seemed fine, got home and stopped the van, checked the level looked ok so relieved the pressure by gently opening the cap. As I opened the cap as normal the...
So you would expect little flow initially and more flow when warm?
Found it! Not sure what needs to come of to get it out though, looks buried in there
Where is the thermostat on the 2.0 tdi 132kW?
Got someone to rev the van while I had the return disconnected and it definitely increased, suggest pump is spinning. Starting to wonder again about the sticky stat theory. Still need a gas test on...
Sticky thermostat is a possibility but as I don’t know if the van has ever had a water pump and i was going to do timing belt in next 6000km I am going there first. Even if the thermostat was sticky...
Bit of an update. Put a pressure test on the coolant system today and it appeared to be holding, may have been some slight drop off but there was no discernible leak anywhere. Ran the engine with the...
Looking for some help, driving yesterday and after about 30 mins the coolant light comes on and I notice the temp dial goes from 90 to 120 and back again in about 20 secs. Does this a couple times so...
