Yeah, second time we’ve had to wait for parts on this car, but thankfully the turnaround was pretty quick last time. Indooroopilly VW seems pretty alright. When the gearbox on my Golf R was replaced...
Busted control module for the boot lid, so we have new parts coming from Germany. Four to six weeks wait.
At that stage they’ll also attempt to address the other issues on the car, some of which...
The Alltrack has been with VW since Monday morning, so three days now. No idea yet on the cause of the issues, nor is it fixed yet, but the car is apparently very different from the previous models....
The boot unlatches and pops open when you press the open button and locks when you press it down, so I think the micro switches may be okay?
We got the car back for two weeks, and then it’ll be back to the workshop for what could be a three/four day stint.
No error codes or issues detected with the diagnostics, but the new struts...
You end up having to force the boot lid, unfortunately. It’s not moving under power.
We’ve dropped the car at VW, so we see what they come back with.
So the boot lid was fixed with the struts being replaced, and worked for about a month. The car is heading back to the dealership tomorrow for the same issue as before.
We left the boot lid open...
I’ve seen two MK8 Golfs in the flesh. One at a dealership showroom, and a GTI at the dealer workshop when taking the Passat Alltrack to have the boot struts fixed.
We’ll likely be skipping the MK8...
Failed modules found, replacement parts ordered, and will probably take 4-6 weeks to arrive at VW Indooroopilly.
No root cause could be identified, so it must have been dodgy from the start.
Thanks, I’ll see if I can find anything in the manual too, but it’s off to VW in the morning.
Yes, the car has been restarted a couple of times, with a fair amount of time in between at least one of the restarts as it’s been standing overnight.
I can’t say 100% something didn’t get caught...
The boot lid stopped working yesterday on our 2021 Passat Alltrack.
It worked when my daughter opened it at school to put her bag in, and it wouldn’t open when we got home.
It unlocks and pops...
Very accurate, and we’ve experienced this too, costing us money in the process. I think the pre-MIB3 cars were much easier to live with as far as comfort features & technology is concerned.
We could do with the extra boot space for all the sporting equipment we’re carting around every weekend, which is where everything started. We’re very happy with the space the Alltrack offers.
The...
The Good:
Lots of space in the boot for kit, with very good strap down options. (This is what lured us in when the Tiguan got a bit long in the tooth.)
The Bad:
Buggy MIB3 with overheating Apple...
I’d give the Skoda a very good look as an alternative. We’ve got the MY21 Passat Alltrack Premium, and it’s pretty underwhelming to live with.

DQ 381 - Is that the same one as in the Golf R?
I had one replaced after an incident involving children leaving a storm drain cover open. Thanks to VW and insurance it didn't cost me a cent of the...
Thanks for that. I actually found that site before, but forgot about it.

Where can one find more information regarding the SWaP codes available on a vehicle?
These are the codes “supported” by the vehicle in question, but I’d be keen to know what each code means....
We had the car at the dealership today for the “1000km post delivery service”.
Their response was to update the software on the unit and ask us to keep an eye on it, as they’re too short staffed...
Glad to hear you have it sorted.
We’re two regular drivers carting about a fair amount of sporting gear for the family, and we got the Alltrack for the little bit of extra load space. It’s...
Let us know when you’ve cleared off all the old profiles on the vehicle and the phone. Currently it’s sounding like the car is the problem, so starting as fresh as possible would be good.
Which model iPhone are you using?
Does it work with a cable?
You’ve checked the volume while connected, and checked the phone can play via an alternate Bluetooth device?
In our Alltrack the...
