Maybe a bit different for later models, but I have a current quote for a Mk 6 GTI, $1200.
Water Pump & Thermostat Assembly Replacement Labour $547.75
Water Pump Assembly $496.65

Cheers Lucas. That's a pretty ****e run of luck for 80000 km.
Actually, the last major issues I'm expecting are a water pump and perhaps a new inlet manifold (and valve clean I guess) once the runner adjuster or some other plastic POS shags itself.
Thanks Lucas. Drives like magic mate. I usually hang onto my cars for ages, so it was worth getting it done sooner rather than later, especially once the DMF started clunking.
By the way, I drove mine for 6 months or more with it clunking into D from R when the motor was cold, having a bit of vibration upon take off, and clunking in 1st or 2nd when accelerating or...
It's not usually the gearbox itself, is it? Not sure it helps much but I just had the below done on my Mk 6 GTI with 6 sp DSG and the difference is unbelievable. I had a slight DGS fluid leak which...
Three years and 50000 km later and I still love this car, even if I had to spend around $6200 on it lately. Had the timing chain, guides, tensioner, cam bracket etc. replaced ($1850) because the old...
Champion, thanks for the informative reply Lucas. The amount of carbon in those pics is insane for only 35K.
Thanks so much for your response. Did it make any noticeable difference having it done and would you know if a diesel motor is any worse to clean using this technique than a petrol motor?
I just...
I've done a tonne of reading about decarbonising the inlet on my GTI and was resigned to the fact that the intake manifold would have to come off to do it properly.
Has anyone ever tried this...
Not that you are in Poland but I watched this the other night and found it interesting.

G12evo is what I was sold about a year ago for my Mk6 GTI (and I noted the same thing as the OP with what is on the reservoir vs the manual).
Aside from the injectors ticking, it seems rather noisy in general to me. Can't really help you there.
Neat one mate, thanks for sharing. The only thing I wish was that it was a bit gentler in reverse, lol.
Got the ATE pads and rotors to replace the originals on the front of my Mk 6 GTI and am loving them (especially the lack of dust). The rotors come with a coating but no real instructions for burning...
Cheers for the update and the video. That's not the rattle I have, tf!
One oil top up wouldn't help if that's the issue and it's too far gone, but it might keep a shonky style tensioner in better working order during it's life. Not all scan tools might work anyway...
I have a Mk 6 GTI with 117000 km and occasionally get a rattle on cold starts since I bought it with 85000 km, but it doesn't seem to come from the timing chain region of the motor. I don't think...
I guess this fits under electronics??? Anyway, I bought an EVC Ultimate9 throttle controller a few weeks ago for my Mk6 GTI and I can highly recommend it. Not only takes away the lag and doughy...
Had a mild panic attack yesterday. Car had been running fine and I gassed it a bit in traffic to change lanes. Nothing outlandish, and as I came off the accelerator pedal it started running horribly,...
Cheers mate. I thought about removing it but it's not terrible yet. Haven't noticed any issue with the one on the firewall yet, thankfully.

I tried searching for this issue on here but didn’t find anything. The bonnet lining on my Mk 6 GTI sags because the tabs don’t got into the slots very well anymore and it’s annoying to see this each...
