ok i’ve fixed this. I’ll try and describe it as best i can and apologise if i get some part names wrong.
The wires run from the LHS indicator bulb up and to the front slightly before running...
I'm now thinking the mirror i'm trying to repair is not original VW but an aftermarket replacement. The previous owner may have put this on. Otherwise the part I bought should fit...
Genius. I was thinking it must be out there and a cheap part but honestly, this is probably a quicker and easier option.
Will see what they have on monday. They probably want to sell the whole...
Hey there
I'm having some trouble fixing a RHS wing mirror that got snapped off in a car wash (i know, but the kids love bubblecano).
I can't seem to find the correct replacement part. The part...
TLDR: I tried hard to make the “big guys” pay, got the ****s pretty early in the process in the scheme of things, got the roof sprayed and haven’t thought about it since.
hey guys
sorry i’m...
ah this makes sense. I haven’t got around to running the extra hose and probably best i don’t if that’s the case
it’s the side indicator on a t5 so there just seems no way to reach the remaining wire without a lot of work
thanks - actually i can’t see the end of the wires that’s coming from the instrument cluster... once i find it i reckon i solder it. I don’t know what to remove so i can get to it though... through...

It seems a rat thought my indicator wiring was tasty and chewed it off about 25cm from the bulb. Dang!
Can anyone tell me how to best get to the end of those wires to reconnect?

Thanks Brian. Really appreciate this advice - I'll do the same. It just didn't feel right watching it dribble down all over everything. Maybe some sort of heat resistant tape to hold it in place....
Maybe a video helps to explain. This is for a VW Transporter T5

I had some trouble with condensate from the ac backing up due to a pinched drain hose. Once i fixed this i noticed the hose basically goes through the firewall and 30mm into the engine bay.
Is...
oh i just realised that i found this thread by searching and i thought i searched the transporter section... so my post is about a transporter maybe it’s still useful
Realise you’ve probably sorted this by now but perhaps useful for others... I’ve been battling with a leak in similar location and just fixed it today.
For me was a bit confusing at first as it...

Wow - these replies are from a long time ago and i'm just seeing them now! Thanks for the advice and encouragement. We've done heaps of great trips in the last 12 months...
Hi there
I have a 2013 VW Transporter that has peeling paint in the channels. The paint adherence between the primer the colour (white) is apparently not very good. I have peeling paint in the...
Solved this by getting some Rhino racks (heavy duty) that includes adaptors to the transporter channel in the roof and then fixing the roof top tent to directly. We were on the road for about two...
Hello
I've looked through many posts but don't feel like i know exactly what to get in terms of roof racks for my T5. Initially i want to carry a roof top tent and maybe in the future some other...
Thank you will have a search around first - pretty sure lots of stuff has been going on in the forums on the camper van topic!
Hello
I've been a VW fan for a long time but haven't had one for a while. I started out with my dad having an old beetle as his daily driver, I picked up a '74 kombi and did heaps of touring in...
