Yes it can.
I don’t live in Sydney, so cannot help. I presume your son doesn’t live in Sydney either?

Looks great. GLWS.
I second @Adrian_R's suggestion. Kamold installed one in my Tiguan and it was pretty easy and well worth the upgrade.
I have a vague recollection that cluster replacement, and the inherent immobiliser issues, are way more complicated than can be dealt with through VCDS.
On my 2010 Tiguan I have both aftermarket fog lights (courtesy of the previous owner) and Hella driving lights. The fog lights were originally on a seperate circuit with a button, but I had Euro Car...
Did anyone know about the online sale of 30 T6.1 Californias that VW are going to bring into Australia? I have been a follower of VW on Facebook for years and never saw a post about the online...
You will be making your Tiggy ugly (IMHO) [emoji23]
Either Continental or Bosch. I believe the former for the RNS-510
In Australia at least, the Tiguan was AWD from the beginning. FWD came much later as a lower cost option.
In my experience gremlins don’t tend to stick to a timetable, but perhaps there are notes in the log book or maybe within the servicing dealers computer system.
My water pump failed with a bang at...
Congratulations on your acquisition. I too have a 2010, and mine is diesel and manual. Two things you might want to keep an eye on is the water pump and air conditioning compressor. On the latter, if...
VW compressors of that era are prone to failure. If you catch it early, you can minimise the expense somewhat. I drove my Tiguan too long after I knew something was wrong, and the entire system ended...
Yes. Although it was listed as an option, all Australian delivered Pirelli Editions had them fitted.
My Pirelli edition has mirror dip, but no memory seats - although they are electrically adjustable. If memory serves (sorry, car is in storage), you need to have the mirror adjust selector clicked...
Why? They made it and supplied it into the parts market. Doesn’t matter if they installed it or not, it can still kill you. It's not a warranty claim, but a safety recall.
Surely it’s should be covered by the recall? It’s still a faulty product and was made by VW.
Australian car colours are by and large boring: white, silver, charcoal, and occasionally blue and red, so there is rarely a wide choice in showrooms. I have also heard that the resale on white cars...
Correct.
I asked VW Australia that once and they wouldn’t tell me. I'd suggest there were fewer yellow ones and more silver and black, as Australian colour tastes are pretty conservative.
400 came to Australia - all DSG. Four colours, two door types and only three factory options, although pretty sure all had rear parking sensors, so really only two options.
Not wanting to dissuade you from buying as it is a very good car, but I suggest you look into forum post on water pumps and air conditioning compressor failures.
Is VW Central still operating in Melbourne? They did my badge camera.
