Watching with interest, would love to feature the story on our blog when you are done if either of you are game.
Looks great, nice work!
Open the tailagate, bump the car up and down and watch the top of the shocks (you might have to remove the rubber covers first).
You'll see movement if they are loose, there is an upper and a lower...
So.. the welding has continued!
After spinning the car round to work on the drivers side, I was relieved to see the underneath wasn't quite as bad.. but it still wasn't great!!
The jacking...
Nice stash.. sadly sights like that are few and far between, and in the UK, they would be well beyond saving if they had spent the last 20 years in the woods!
Hope someone gets to save it.
You can purchase in AUSdollars through the link below if you prefer. ...
That looks pretty decent.. except the cracked dash. Good price too (doubt it will stay that low!)
Thanks dude.
Cheers dude!
I always wanted one too - couldn't believe my luck when I saw it parked at the scrap yard ready to get stripped.
Oh it's in plentiful supply over there -more so on the later body kitted cars than the earlier ones.
What years did they offer the Mk2 in Australia for?
Guess that's what you pay for rarity..
How much does it cost to ship a car into Aus?
Andy
I'm lucky, or sad enough to own a Mk1 Polo.
It's one of the oldest examples in the UK, and I saved it from a scrap yard for £50 about 10 years ago.
Here's a couple of pics..If you'd like to read...
Looks like a great project you've got going, hats off for tackling it yourself, and best of luck with it ;)
Hi all,
I picked this Mk2 up on a bit of an impulse. I saw it on a Facebook cars for sale page, it was cheap, and it needed to go ASAP, and It was only a few miles down the road.
I looked round...
Looks lovely, nice work! Would love a Mk1 Scirocco.
Cool car.. never seen one of these in real life sadly.
Andy
Thanks dude.
