... and ours has gone again.
No goodwill from VW this time.
Likewise our water pump was replaced after the supercharger clutch failed (it's mounted on the water pump) under warranty.
MY12.5
So common you can get a rebuilt water pump after market exchange...
We've owned the 6R 12.5 for 3+ years now.
Great fun little car, but here's a comparison to some of my previous / other current cars:
Polo Vs Golf Tdi
Tdi was soooo economical. Fill up every...
For reference, I went for both - wider & stickier.
Hankook Z221 Medium semi slicks 225/45R17 had no appreciable effect on turn in during a the recent Targa West City Sprint, but almost eliminated...

OK, so we've been through the whole oil consumption process with VW.
Consumption was absolutely horrendous for the first 10,000kms, then eased off to just terrible.
In November they changed out...
We had the electric power assist steering switch itself off 5 times over about a week and a half (including 3 times on Saturday).

Anyway,...
Nearly three weeks later, and we have the car back (needed a couple of more parts on reassembly as they found a few bits of turbo in some of the hoses).
They didn't replace the cat, and there was no...
It seems to have been a particular problem with the earlier 1.9 Tdi, rare on the 2.0L and I haven't heard of a problem on the petrol burners.
Hopefully the newer turbos are a little more robust....
Things are actually happening now, parts will be in today.
I must say how impressed we are with both John Hughes Skipper Volkswagen and VW Australia. The service team at John Hughes have been...
Skippers have already put a claim request into VW, will hopefully hear back tomorrow. They also think the cat will be fine once it burns all the oil out (that should really give diesels a bad name...
Friday evening (doesn't it always happen on a weekend?)my wife rings me up saying her car is lacking power and making a whistling noise. I had a look at it, and noticed that the rubber hose on the...

My car ownership is varied - we currently have 5 minis, 3 mokes, a Suzuki Swift Gti, a Goggomobil coupe race car, a Commodore work car and a Mk V Golf 1.9 Tdi.
Just doing a...
