Ok great, that’s what I was assuming but you never know with vw, as you say a lot like apple. Doesn’t always play nice with others!
Your stereo sounds like a good option but for me, I already have...
Hi guys been a while
Just after some information
I have a highline multi 2012 with a knackered motor, I’m looking at buying a 2012 comfortline as similar cost to fixing the highline. Is it...
What year is the van? Does it use much oil?
Would be better off burning a big wad of cash and save yourself the hassle
Let's hope the engines are as reliable, maybe if they could last 100,000kms without needing replacement would be a start. That' would be a good thing to take from the original. Maybe not the power...
Looks like I'm number 2 then, only done 91000. 2011 using oil and dpf stuffed. Good luck guys!
Agreed
The info on oil use is very concerning
something that does give me some hope for the dpf is this info I found on an English site
VAG DISESEL PARTICULATE FILTERS
Courtesy of David Bodily...
If you mean the interior mirror on the windscreen, it's just a manual thing. The bracket that attaches it to the window has a ball on the end and the mirror has a socket.
Should be a bit stiff to...
Thanks guys
I hadn't thought of oil blocking it, hopefully not. Surely it would be burnt off.
I have always used vw507 spec oil for top ups and changes after 3yrs of the dealer services where I bought it new
Also I'd have to get it there and back from Adelaide, while having no car. I have a week off so I think I could give it a go for free. Hopefully
Cheers, I am thinking along the same lines, but I know I'm not supposed to do a delete
My dpf is up the ****
Currently being towed the 300 kms home.
Van is a 2011 high line multivan
It has got just over 91000kms on the clock. I noticed this w.end on 2000km round trip that oil...
I find It handy when reversing trailer around a corner, can see the drawbar and make tight turns without jacknifing.
Also as I run an adaptor if I plug the wire into the van without the trailer...
My MY 11 highline was prepped for towing with the connections behind the rear lights, I got the dealer to fit this as I have bad luck and if it was going to stuff up for someone it would be me.
They...
Motor could be anything but the body work and stance has been worked on by photoshop!
Well the dealer inspected and diagnosed it and the outcome is that VW are fixing it at their cost, new head, valves, cams, belts and the updated timing cover.
So fingers crossed it won't happen...
I'm fairly sure I had this problem when my MY11 132kw was only 1yr old, luckily still under warranty, as it was a big job apparently.
All I can say is good luck with it, but it seams my belt didn't snap but was still there. However was being stripped somehow and turned into string that's ended up inside the timing cover. Not sure...
Well that is very interesting. Cheers for the heads up, I am not about to let this go and I will be taking it further
Cheers
Dave
Shane is pulling it apart now as at the very least we have bent valves!
Cheers mate
Let's hope it's not that bad or vw come to the party if it is.
If it is and they don't the split will be looking for a new owner!
It will be going to the dealer on Tuesday. Once they actually diagnose the problem we can enter into talks with vw if need be
I'll keep you posted
