Got these rims off ebay a while back. Waited till I needed new rubber as these are 16" and the originals were 15". I love them. No more security ties on hub caps to stop losing them - yeeeha.

Tasty rims. Don;t know much about VW alloys - are they VW or aftermarket with a centre insert?
They are the real deal - they even came in the VW boxes with the paperwork still inside.
My bumpers were done with Meguiar's Trim Detailer.

Very nice Melissa, I wouldnt mind these on my T4 (if I was keeping it:() I think the previous owner found evey gutter to run into with the current ones.

The Meguires makes it shiny but if your bumpers are really faded you can use Forever Black to paint them back to black. Its like the shoe stuff we used to use on school shoes, with a sponge applicator.
I've been using "Mothers-Naturally Black" from Supercheap. It seems to do the job well, but the bumpers are in good shape - not faded at all.

I use the same on mine. BTW, what polish do you use? Your van looks fantastic. My van is also red but it doesn't come up like yours even after a polish. I find the red goes off fairly quickly as well.
The last polish it had was done with Meguires Cleaner Wax - that was probably 5 months ago. The front has Venture Sheild protective film on it.
What do you mean "the red goes off fairly quickly" ? Do you mean streaky and dull? I am finding that I can start to see it, like where the water drips down from the side windows.... I am getting fussy though.
It lives at night in a garage but 4 days a week it sits outside in a carpark. I only wash it every 6 weeks and I cant reach the roof, even with a chair. I am really happy with the Venture Sheild - I should have wrapped the whole car in it!!!:rolleyes:

Yeah about $300 for reset rear springs and lowered torsion bars on the front.
I need to know what engine size your van is though as they run different strength springs.
I have lowered a few, mine was the guinea pig and I love it, I can go flat out round any corner and it just sticks.

It doesn't take long after polishing that it has a slightly white hue rather than a deep rich colour that yours appears to have in the picture. I know red paintwork has a reputation of fading more than other colours but mine is out of the sunlight most of the time. The PO used it as a daily driver for the 2 years he owned the van so I am thinking that is why the paint is down a bit.
Do you think the PO might have used drive through car washes? I find them so rough on paintwork - even the "brushless" ones.
No, I think it is due to exposure to the sunlight & maybe not polished enough. I had the same experience with a Mercedes that had a solid colour[non metallic without clear] & my wife had parked in the sun & a sprinkler had wet the bootlid. It was very difficult to get the water spots off even with a power buff.
There is no substitute IMO for looking after the paintwork from new.

She has been at the mechanics since yesterday morning getting the 100,000klm service (the timing belt/water pump one). Got the phone call this afternoon that its finished so I can pick her up tomorrow.
They are one of the best looking OEM wheels:cool: And now she's has been lowered.. very very nice.
You probably know this already ,but if you wish to tweak the front a little bit more, there is the adjustable torsion bar you can tighten, which will lower the front.

and thanks Tombi - I do love them. I know I can one lower on the front but I am already scraping my mudflaps..
They had to order parts from Germany, then the clips for the plastic panels wernt included so they had to wait for them.
Mechanic and an auto lecy couldnt start it so it was booked into the "authorised vw dealer" 10 working day wait to have time to reprogram the computer but still took another 4 days to have time to look at it:mad:.
Then by the sound of things they had put a 4cyl dizzy in my 5cyl (roo snapped it off) so had to wait a week to find one....
Its been so long its out of rego lol.
Its almost put me off vws:frown: Id hate to go through this again!
But Its out of the evil clutches of the "authorized reapiarer" now so I can relax its in safe hands again.
Hopefully I,ll have it this coming week (but Ive heard that every week for the last 6)

Now for the downside......
My mudflaps have been scraping when I drive in and out of my driveway - it has that horrible scooped gutter all the way round the culdesaq - so I have been keeping an eye on them. The drivers side came unclipped today...

My question is - Should I just leave these holes as they are or put the screws back in? The screws dont seem to want to go all the way back in.
Leave the holes or put a blob of silicone if it worries you.
I reckon you are better off without mudguards, everytime I take em off, you get a fist sized clump of mud and detrius that has been kept moist and against your inner guard. massive rust trap.
Sure they keep your paint clean, but really its just moving the dirt to a worse place.
Just my 2c worth.
Thanks Matt - I agree about the mud - there is a big lump of it there. I will just dab some silicone on the holes after I have cleaned the muck away.
What about the back ones?
