Tools needed for VR6 clutch/chain?

Hey guys, I'm doing the timing chain and clutch on my VR this weekend, I'm just after any knowledge anyone can give me. I need to know if we need any obscure/unusual tools to get to the timing chain and the clutch?

We have lots of sockets, splines, but we're not 100% sure on what other tools might be needed.

Help very appreciated guys:)

make sure you have a swear jar. Most important tool when working on a VR6

Ull need something to lock the flywheel/pressure plate when torquing up the bolts. I used two bolts and a rachet socket wrench to lock it in place:

Which clutch kit from gap did u get? Did u get the install kit as well?

Cheers bro:) Yeah I ended up going for the stock mk3 VR6 sachs clutch kit and the bolts/rings replacement kit. $220 US for a new clutch kit sounded pretty farken good to me:) Oh and by the way I have the cam locking plate for the timing chain, and the clutch alignment tool for the clutch:)

Get ur flywheel machined while ur at it, the stock one is a chunker and it shouldnt cost a fortune too. :)

Engine supporting brace.
2 Sets of axlestands for when you have to drop the subframe.
Couple of decent Jacks, VR6s are heavy.
A Splined tool and very strong compressor to get the flywheel bolts off. Good Luck with that by the way.
Big ass Hammer for getting the CV shafts out of the hubs.
Take lots of pics of what to do and not to do.

Thanks bro:) Yeah I'll be whoring out the engine for pics and a possible how-to for anyone game/stupid(:D) enough to do this all themselves
